Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed that he was following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during his time at Napoli.
Speaking to Rai Sport, Ancelotti, who was at the helm for the Naples-based side between 2018 and 2019, heaped praise on Napoli’s new signings, especially Kvaratskhelia. As reported by Alfredo Pedullà , the former Everton boss was quoted as saying:
“Napoli have signed excellent players, refreshing the air. It’s difficult to predict today what they can do, certainly the newcomers have made the team unpredictable. Is Kvaratskhelia a surprise? For those who didn’t know him, we were already following him when I was at Napoli. He is a special player.”
The 21-year-old Georgia has made a glittering start to his new life in Italy, having already amassed five goals and three assists from 10 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
On the list of leading goalscorers in Serie A in the 2022/23 campaign, Kvaratskhelia currently occupies the second spot, only behind Bologna’s Marko Arnautović, who has scored six goals this season thus far.
