Juventus to meet with Federico Bernardeschi’s agent over renewal

Juventus are willing to discuss terms with the entourage of Federico Bernardeschi over a potential renewal of the former Fiorentina star.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus will hold a meeting with the agent of Federico Bernardeschi, Federico Pastorello, to discuss the player’s potential contract renewal at the club this week.

As the report suggests, the meeting between the two parties will take place on Friday in Turin. The report clarifies that finding an agreement over a contract renewal for Bernardeschi could be difficult but not impossible.

Under the stewardship of Massimiliano Allegri, the Italian winger has played 27 games in Serie A. However, when it comes to goal contributions, the 28-year-old has garnered one goal and three assists this season in the top flight of Italian football.

His productivity and work rate has also faced some severe criticism. And amid all, it has appeared to be a topsy-turvy campaign for the player bound to the Old Lady’s terms until June 2022.

Juventus have already decided against extending Paulo Dybala’s contract at the club. Letting Bernardeschi leave in the same summer could weaken the numbers of left-footed playmakers in the Old Lady’s attacking front.
