Former Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo announced as Karagumruk boss

Former Juventus and Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo has been announced as the new Karagumruk boss.

Pirlo’s stint as Juventus manager ended at the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign and Max Allegri returned to the Bianconeri. Since then, the Italian has been linked with several Serie A sides and more recently, he was linked with a move to Spezia, who are about to lose Thiago Motta.

Pirlo has now been annnounced as the manager of Turkish side Karagumruk, who have been in talks with the Italian for some days now. It has been previously reported that the ex-Juve boss would sign a one-year deal.

Salernitana had come forward to sign Pirlo earlier this year, with the manager having previously rejected Genoa and the Polish national team. It was stated that Pirlo had actually considered that offer and was taking time to think about it but Salernitana appointed Davide Nicola.
