Inter could sell Alessandro Bastoni in case of big offer amidst Manchester City interest

Inter’s financial situation means that Alessandro Bastoni could leave in the summer if a big offer is made for the Italian.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim today that Inter’s goal is to end the summer transfer window with a profit of about €60 million-€70 million. They also want to cut the squad wages by 10-15 percent. Because of that, it is ‘inevitable’ that one of the biggest stars in the side is moved on.

Milan Skriniar only recently signed a new deal and for Nicolo Barella, a massive offer would be needed. Lautaro Martinez could be sold but the Argentine wants to stay at the club, signalled by the fact that he opened a restaurant in Milan recently.

Bastoni’s profile is said to be tempting for many managers across Europe – including Pep Guardiola. City had tried to sign him last summer but Inter and the player rejected the move. City had offered a fee of €60 million for the ex-Parma youngster. Tottenham have also been linked with the Italian in recent weeks.

But now, Beppe Marotta would be open to selling Bastoni if the right fee is offered. A reference in valuation could be the €55m fee that Tottenham would pay for Cristian Romero or what Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire.
