Premier League club West Ham United set to spend €35m on Piotr Zieliński

After signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, West Ham United remain keen on revisiting the Italian market, with Napoli’s Piotr Zieliński emerging as the Hammers’ next transfer priority this summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that West Ham United are growing more interested in signing Piotr Zieliński from Napoli.

However, the player doesn’t intend to make the move this summer. The report understands that he wants to don the blue shirt of Napoli while playing the Champions League football for the Italian club in the 2022/23 season.

Recent developments around the potential move have hinted at West Ham United’s interest in increasing their first offer for the Polish star.

While the Premier League club is willing to submit a proposal worth €35 million, Napoli are hopeful of accumulating a little more than that.

The 28-year-old creative playmaker is one of the highest-paid players in Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club. Considering that, West Ham are set to offer the player a net salary of around €5 million per season.

It is also reported that if Zieliński ends up leaving the club, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli will look to sign a replacement for the former Udinese star.
