Giorgos Kyriakopoulos lauded Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, who has been linked with a move to AC Milan this summer.
While doing an interview with Nero & Verde on Modenaindiretta, the Greek left-back, who has signed a contract renewal until June 2025, admitted that Berardi is his strongest competitor in the training field and the winger’s authoritative ball control makes the defender angry sometimes.
“I never want to lose. When you play against Berardi, Raspadori, Traore, Scamacca, it’s too difficult because in the short spaces they are very strong and you have to be careful in every situation to take the ball to them.
“Berardi makes me angry because it is difficult to steal the ball from him but sometimes I win and sometimes he wins.”
Berardi has had a fantastic season for Sassuolo this summer. From 29 league appearances, the 27-year-old has garnered 14 goals and 15 assists thus far.
However, his performances have not helped improve the results for the team, with Sassuolo currently standing 11th in the points table. Milan have reportedly shown interest in making a swoop for the winger this summer, with the Neroverdi looking to pocket a transfer fee of around €30million from a potential sale.
