UEFA Champions League PREVIEW | Napoli vs Ajax

Following Italian football’s dismal display on Tuesday night, Napoli will look to restore the positive image surrounding the league as they take on Dutch giants, Ajax.

Last night both Juventus and Milan both lost their respective Champions League ties, and therefore it falls on Serie A leaders to do the league justice with a good performance against Ajax.

Last week in the first fixture between these two sides, Napoli ran out convincing 6-1 winners away from home at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Napoli are unbeaten to date in the competition, also recording wins over Liverpool and Rangers, therefore they find themselves top, a win would almost definitely guarantee progression to the next round.

It would be easy to consider the game a foregone conclusion after last weeks one sided, demolition, however counting Ajax out is never smart as they have the quality to hurt anyone.

Team News

Napoli will be without Amir Rrahmani who is an injury doubt, however a huge boost for Luciano Spalletti is the return of his star striker, Nigerian, Victor Osimhen who has been missing for a spell. He comes back into an attacking outfit which put six past Ajax last week.

Ajax have to do without captain Dusan Tadic as he got a red card last game out. An additonal absence as reported on GBDFN, Devyne Rensch will be missing from Wednesdays game.

Predicted Line-Ups

Napoli Predicted XI: Alex Meret; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Leo Ostigard, Mario Rui; Andre-Frank Anguissa, Stanislav Lobotka, Matteo Politano, Piotr Zielinski; Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giacomo Raspadori.

Ajax Predicted XI: Remko Pasveer, Jorge Sanchez, Jurrien Timber, Calvin Bassey, Daley Blind; Steven Berghuis, Edson Alvarez, Kenneth Taylor; Lucas Ocampos, Mohammed Kudus, Steven Bergwijn.
