Inter make contact with Arsenal for Folarin Balogun

Serie A outfits Inter are reportedly in contact with Premier League side Arsenal for the signature of Folarin Balogun.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has been in London since yesterday to conduct a series of meetings, possibly with Arsenal for the transfer of striker Folarin Balogun.

The USMNT player came back to his parent club after a tremendous loan spell with Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims where he scored 21 goals last season.

Arsenal are expected to name their price tag for Balogun in the region of €40 million and Inter will have to negotiate to get an affordable transfer settlement.

The 21-year-old is seen as a replacement for striker Edin DĹľeko who is set to leave for Turkey in the next few days. Ausilio is working with Chelsea to extend Romelu Lukaku’s stay with Inter as the Belgian is keen to continue.

Even if Lukaku stays, the Nerazzurri will need to find a more reliable sharpshooter up front to partner with Lautaro Martinez. The figure and abilities of Folarin Balogun perfectly fit the desired profile.
