Atalanta yet to reach agreement with Gian Piero Gasperini regarding stay

Serie A side Atalanta are yet to find an agreement with manager Gian Piero Gasperini to prolong his stay at the club.

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio via Calcio Napoli 24, Atalanta are waiting for Gian Piero Gasperini to commit his long-term future to the club. The Bergamo-based side’s management wants to close on an agreement with their manager soon as several clubs like Napoli, Milan and a few others are quoting the recent Europa League-winning coach.

The Partenopei CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis has Gasperini on his list of potential managers for his club next season alongside the likes of Stefano Pioli, Vincenzo Italiano and Antonio Conte. The former Chelsea manager seems to have taken a step forward in the race.

Earlier, Atalanta president Antonio Percassi was optimistic about Gasperini’s stay following a meeting with him. It remains to be seen what steps La Dea take to keep their revolutionising manager at the Gewiss Stadium for a few more seasons.
